Allied Health/Graduate Scholarship
The Foundation awards up to $1,000 for full-time college and post-graduate studies for allied health students that meet the requirements. This scholarship covers the cost of tuition only. REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be a Bedford City/County resident enrolled in a Virginia state approved program of study. Applicant must maintain a “C” average or above for each class. College level semester courses require a desire to work in the Bedford community. Studies must be in a certificate or degree program. Tuition will be funded up to $1,000 per year. Students should submit to the Foundation course costs and details of any other scholarships/employer tuition reimbursements.
PROCEDURE:
To apply, send a letter explaining your request. The letter must be received by June 1. The Scholarship Committee will make its determination by June 30. Scholarship award letters and checks will be mailed to the schools by August 15. Exceptions to these requirements can be made at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee.
Please include with your application a cover letter that outlines your plans and anticipated costs. The Bedford Community Health Foundation (BCHF) offers a variety of scholarships to residents of Bedford City and Country, and health care providers employed in the Bedford City or County area.
These scholarships are designed to assist:
-full-time nursing students
-nurses who are employed and seek additional education
-full-time allied health students and graduate students
-high school students studying at the Bedford Science and Technology Center
Scholarship Awards
Applications will be reviewed by a Scholarship Committee and the recipient will be notified by mail. The scholarship check will be sent to the school where the recipient is enrolled.
