BEDFORD NEEDS YOU…

The demand for low cost medical care in Bedford is growing. As more people lose jobs and employer contributions to health insurance, more families are unable to afford basic health care. Your membership donation to the Bedford Community Health Foundation is essential to help the organizations in this community which provide health-related services to needy families.

An individual donation of $40 can provide high blood pressure medication for a senior citizen or a textbook for a local nursing student.

A family donation of $70 can provide much-needed medications to several individuals, a visit to the dentist for a young child, or a first mammogram.

A business donation of $100 can make CPR classes available to someone who can’t afford training or provide a continuing education class to a local nursing professional.

Your membership donation is critical to non-profit organizations in Bedford which provide health-related services. Each year, the Bedford Community Health Foundation gives out almost $150,000 in grants and scholarships to help make Bedford a healthier place in which to live. Unfortunately, the requests always exceed the grants available. Without your donation, that gap will continue to grow.

Please help us fund essential programs and services in Bedford. Programs such as Medical Transportation, Emergency Services, Nursing and Allied Health Education, School Health Nursing, Prescription Medication Assistance, Hospice, Senior Care, Dental Care for Children and Adults, Nutrition and Fitness Programming, Mental Health and Rehabilitation, Parenting, Teen Traffic Safety, Health Care Services for Needy Families, Mammography, Community Health Screenings and Education, and much, much more.
You gift could help a local student earn a nursing degree.

People belong to the American Cancer Society because they want to contribute to finding a cure.  People join parent/teacher organizations to personally make a difference in the quality of education for students in their area.

People join the Bedford Community Health Foundation for both reasons –to contribute to a wealth of health initiatives and programs, and to personally make a different in the quality and availability of healthcare in our area.  Our members realize there is strength in numbers.  By joining with their neighbors, co-workers and friends, they can help make Bedford one of the healthiest communities in the state.  That’s the goal of the Bedford Community Health Foundation and its members.

Good health is important to all of us and what a great community resource!  Join now.
